Jaratkāru’s Marital Compact and Departure (जरत्कारु–जरत्कारुणी संवादः)

यत्‌ तेडभिलपितं प्राप्तुं फलं तस्मान्नूपोत्तमात्‌ । अहमेव प्रदास्यामि तत्‌ ते यद्यपि दुर्लभम्‌,“उस श्रेष्ठ राजासे जो फल प्राप्त करना तुम्हें अभीष्ट है, वह अत्यन्त दुर्लभ हो तो भी मैं ही तुम्हें दे दूँगा

kāśyapa uvāca | yat teḍabhilapitaṃ prāptuṃ phalaṃ tasmān nṛpottamāt | aham eva pradāsyāmi tat te yady api durlabham ||

Kāśyapa said: “Whatever fruit you wish to obtain from that excellent king—though it may be exceedingly hard to attain—I myself will grant it to you.” In context, the sage’s promise shifts the seeker’s reliance from worldly power to the moral authority of a ṛṣi, emphasizing that true boons are secured through merit, restraint, and the trustworthy word of the wise rather than mere royal favor.
