Jaratkāru-Pitṛdarśana

शड्विंस्तव पिता सो5पि तथैवास्ते यतव्रत: । सो<पि राजा स्वनगरं प्रस्थितो गजसाह्दयम्‌,शंंगिन! संयमपूर्वक व्रतका पालन करनेवाले तुम्हारे पिता अभी उसी अवस्थामें बैठे हैं और वे राजा परीक्षित्‌ अपनी राजधानी हस्तिनापुरको चले गये हैं

ṣaḍviṁśas tava pitā so 'pi tathaivāste yatavrataḥ | so 'pi rājā svanagaraṁ prasthito gajasāhṛdayam, śaṅgin |

“Your father too—now in his twenty-sixth year—remains seated in the same disciplined state, steadfast in his vow. And the king as well has departed for his own city, Hastināpura, O bearer of the bow, having a heart as mighty as an elephant.”
