Mandapāla said: “My children, you should not harbor any grief in your hearts on my account. Even Hutāśa (Agni) knows that you are seers; for the knowledge of Brahman has already become known to you.”

Do not cling to sorrow for a person; cultivate steadiness of heart grounded in higher knowledge. Mandapāla frames consolation as an ethical discipline: those who are ‘ṛṣis’ and know Brahman should not be overwhelmed by personal grief.
Mandapāla addresses his children, urging them not to feel anguish toward him. He reinforces their spiritual stature by saying that even Agni recognizes them as seers, since they have already attained understanding of Brahman.
