Vaiśampāyana said: “When the fire grows in force and the wind begins to blow swiftly, my children will be unable to free themselves—unable to escape from the flames.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how adverse conditions can rapidly overwhelm the unprepared: when destructive forces (fire intensified by wind) combine, mere intention is not enough—one needs timely protection, foresight, and effective means of escape.
Vaiśampāyana reports a fearful anticipation: as the fire strengthens and the wind drives it, the speaker foresees that his children will be unable to get free, emphasizing the immediacy and inevitability of the danger.
