Sārisṛkka said: “You are steadfast and intelligent, and this is a life-threatening crisis for us. Therefore you are the one who can protect us; for among many, it is indeed a single person who proves both wise and heroic—of this there is no doubt.”
सारियुक्क उवाच
In moments of mortal danger, a community looks to the rare individual who unites steadiness (dhīratā), intelligence (medhā), wisdom (prajñā), and valor (śaurya). The verse highlights ethical leadership: capability and courage carry responsibility to protect others.
A speaker named Sārisṛkka addresses someone regarded as calm and intelligent, stating that the group faces a life-threatening संकट and urging that person to take the lead in protecting them, since among many people usually only one emerges as both wise and heroic.
