Vaiśampāyana said: The king carried out everything exactly as it had been instructed by Śūlapāṇi (Śiva). When the twelve-year period was completed, Lord Maheśvara returned again—underscoring the ethical force of steadfast obedience to a divine injunction and the fruition of disciplined, long-term observance.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic steadfastness: when a duty or vow is enjoined by a legitimate authority (here, Śiva), one should execute it precisely and persistently; in due time, the intended result and divine response manifest.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that the king completed all actions exactly as Śiva (Śūlapāṇi) had instructed. After the full span of twelve years, Maheśvara (Śiva) returned again, marking the culmination of the prescribed observance.
