Arjuna’s Pilgrimage and the Maṇalūra Alliance

gatāyām atha kṛṣṇāyāṃ yudhiṣṭhira-purogāmān | vivikte pāṇḍavān sarvān uvāca bhagavān ṛṣiḥ ||

When Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī) had departed, the blessed sage addressed all the Pāṇḍavas—led by Yudhiṣṭhira—in private. The scene underscores the propriety of counsel: after offering respectful blessings and sending Draupadī within, the seer turns to confidential instruction meant for the brothers’ welfare and righteous conduct.

Educational Q&A

Righteous counsel should be given with propriety: honor and protect those who should not be drawn into confidential deliberations, and receive instruction in a secluded setting so that guidance is clear, respectful, and ethically ordered.

After Draupadī (Kṛṣṇā) leaves, the revered sage (identified in the surrounding passage as Nārada) speaks privately to all the Pāṇḍavas, with Yudhiṣṭhira at their head, preparing to deliver confidential advice.
