खाण्डवप्रस्थप्रवेशः तथा इन्द्रप्रस्थनिर्माणवर्णनम् | Entry into Khāṇḍavaprastha and Description of Indraprastha’s Founding

यद्यसौ ब्राह्मणो न स्याद्‌ विन्देत द्रौपदी न सः । नहितं तत्त्वतो राजन वेद कश्चिद्‌ धनंजयम्‌,'भाईजी! यदि अर्जुन ब्राह्मणके वेशमें न होता तो वह कदापि द्रौपदीको न पा सकता था। राजन! वास्तवमें किसीको यह पता ही नहीं चला कि वह अर्जुन है

yady asau brāhmaṇo na syād vindeta draupadīṁ na saḥ | na hi taṁ tattvato rājan veda kaścid dhanañjayam ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “Had he not appeared in the guise of a brāhmaṇa, he would not have won Draupadī. O King, in truth no one recognized him as Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) as he really was.”
