आदि पर्व — द्रौपदी-स्वयंवरानन्तरवृत्तम्
Aftermath of Draupadī’s Svayaṃvara
वार्द्धक्षेमि: सुशर्मा च सेनाबिन्दुश्न पार्थिव: । सुकेतु: सह पुत्रेण सुनाम्ना च सुवर्चसा,इनके सिवा और भी असंख्य महामना क्षत्रियशिरोमणि भूमिपाल यहाँ आये हैं। उधर देखो, गान्धारराज सुबलके पुत्र शकुनि, वृषक और बृहद्वल बैठे हैं। गान्धारराजके ये सभी पुत्र यहाँ पधारे हैं। अश्वत्थामा और भोज--ये दोनों महान् तेजस्वी और सम्पूर्ण शस्त्रधारियोंमें श्रेष्ठ हैं और तुम्हारे लिये गहने-कपड़ोंसे सज-धजकर यहाँ आये हैं। राजा बृहन्त, मणिमान्, दण्डधार, सहदेव, जयत्सेन, राजा मेघसंधि, अपने दोनों पुत्रों शंख और उत्तरके साथ राजा विराट, वृद्धक्षेमके पुत्र सुशर्मा, राजा सेनाबिन्दु, सुकेतु और उनके पुत्र सुवर्चा, सुचित्र, सुकुमार, वृक, सत्यधृति, सूर्यध्वज, रोचमान, नील, चित्रायुध, अंशुमान्, चेकितान, महाबली श्रेणिमान्ू, समुद्रसेनके प्रतापी पुत्र चन्द्रसेन, जलसंध, विदण्ड और उनके पुत्र दण्ड, पौण्ड्रक वासुदेव, पराक्रमी भगदत्त, कलिंगनरेश ताम्रलिप्तनरेश, पाटनके राजा, अपने दो पुत्रों वीर रुक््मांगद तथा रुक्मरथके साथ महारथी मद्रराज शल्य, कुरुवंशी सोमदत्त तथा उनके तीन महारथी शूरवीर पुत्र भूरि, भूरिश्रवा और शल, काम्बोजदेशीय सुदक्षिण, पूरुवंशी दृढ़धन्वा
vārddhakṣemiḥ suśarmā ca senābinduś ca pārthivaḥ | suketuḥ saha putreṇa sunāmnā ca suvarcasā ||
Dhṛṣṭadyumna said: “Here are Vārddhakṣemi, Suśarmā, and the king Senābindu; and Suketu as well, accompanied by his son Suvarcas. Besides these, countless high-minded Kṣatriya-lords, the foremost among rulers, have assembled. Look there also: Śakuni—son of Subala, king of Gāndhāra—together with Vṛṣaka and Bṛhadbala, are seated; all those sons of the Gāndhāra king have come. And Aśvatthāmā and Bhoja—both exceedingly radiant and foremost among fully armed warriors—have arrived for your sake, adorned in ornaments and fine garments.”
