Having duly offered him the proper honors, and having themselves been honored by him in return, the Pāṇḍavas—after the conversation had concluded and with his permission—set out again for Drupada’s imperishable abode (his capital). The passage underscores the ethic of reciprocal respect: hospitality is rendered according to propriety, and departure is taken only after consent is granted.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic conduct in social relations: one should offer hospitality and honor appropriately (yathāvat satkāra), accept honor without arrogance, and depart only after receiving permission (abhyanujñā), maintaining mutual respect and propriety.

After completing their discussion, the Pāṇḍavas properly honor the respected person they are with, are honored in return, take formal leave, and then proceed toward Drupada’s capital.
