बकवधोत्तर-प्रशमनम् | Post-slaying Stabilization after Baka’s Death
इति श्रीमहाभारते आदिपर्वणि हिडिम्बवधपर्वणि भीमहिडिम्बासंवादे एकपज्चाशदधिकशततमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate ādiparvaṇi hiḍimbavadhaparvaṇi bhīma-hiḍimbā-saṃvāde ekapañcāśad-adhika-śatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Ādi Parva, in the section concerning the slaying of Hiḍimba, in the dialogue between Bhīma and Hiḍimbā, ends the one-hundred-and-fifty-first chapter. This is a colophon marking the close of the episode, situating the narrative within its larger ethical frame: the protection of the vulnerable and the removal of a violent threat in the forest setting of the Pāṇḍavas’ journey.
भीमसेन उवाच
As a colophon, the line does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the ethical arc of the episode: confronting predatory violence (Hiḍimba) to safeguard others, while also acknowledging relational and social complexities introduced through Hiḍimbā’s interaction with Bhīma.
This is the closing marker of the chapter, identifying that the text has concluded the chapter within the Hiḍimba-slaying section and specifically within the Bhīma–Hiḍimbā dialogue portion of the Ādi Parva.
