vaiśampāyana uvāca | pragāḍha-dṛḍha-muṣṭitve lāghave vedhane tathā | kṣurā-nārāca-bhallānāṁ vipāṭhānāṁ ca tattvavit |

Vaiśampāyana said: Arjuna proved exceptionally skilled in gripping the bow with a firm, unshakable fist, in quickness of hand, and in piercing the target. He thoroughly understood the inner principles of handling and deploying weapons such as the kṣura, nārāca, bhalla, and vipāṭha, and could apply them effectively. Therefore Droṇācārya became firmly convinced that, in agility and clean execution, there was no other warrior in the world equal to Arjuna.

Educational Q&A

Mastery arises from disciplined practice and understanding fundamentals (tattva): Arjuna is praised not merely for strength, but for firm control, agility, accurate aim, and knowledge of weapon-principles—an ideal of kṣatriya training under a guru.

Vaiśampāyana describes Arjuna’s exceptional proficiency in archery and weapon-handling. Droṇācārya, observing this comprehensive excellence, becomes convinced that no one equals Arjuna in speed and precision.
