139 — Hiḍimba’s Detection and Hiḍimbā’s Approach to Bhīma
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | svabhāvād agamac chabdo mahīṃ sāgara-mekhalām | Arjunasya samo loke nāsti kaścid dhanurdharaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: By its own momentum the report spread throughout the earth, girdled by the ocean, that in all the world there was no bowman equal to Arjuna. The verse underscores how true excellence, when grounded in disciplined skill, becomes widely acknowledged without deliberate self-advertisement.
