Entry into Vāraṇāvata and Suspicion of the Lac-House

धृतराष्ट उवाच भारद्वाज महत्‌ कर्म कृतं ते द्विजसत्तम,धृतराष्ट्रने कहा--द्विजश्रेष्ठ भरद्वाजनन्दन! आपने (राजकुमारोंको अस्त्रकी शिक्षा देकर) बहुत बड़ा कार्य किया है

Transliteration

dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | bhāradvāja mahat karma kṛtaṃ te dvijasattama |

Translation

Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: “O Bhāradvāja, O best among the twice-born, you have accomplished a great deed.” In context, the king acknowledges the immense responsibility and consequence of imparting martial training to the princes—an act that can uphold royal duty when guided by dharma, yet also carries grave ethical weight because such knowledge shapes the future use of power and violence.
