Then Arjuna became glad at heart, his feverish anxiety dispelled. And Droṇa’s earlier declaration proved true: no other person could overcome Arjuna. The verse underscores how a teacher’s discerning confidence, when matched by a disciple’s disciplined effort, removes inner turmoil and establishes steadfastness in the face of rivalry.
A competent teacher’s truthful assessment (satya) and a disciple’s cultivated excellence together dispel inner agitation (jvara) and establish firm confidence; ethical strength here is shown as steadiness and mastery rather than mere pride.
After the preceding event, Arjuna feels deep satisfaction and his worry subsides; simultaneously, Droṇa’s earlier claim is validated—no one else is able to defeat Arjuna.
