Vaiśampāyana said: The prince, a foremost among kṣatriyas, would regularly go to the hermitage and, in Drona’s company, spend his days both in play and in disciplined study—showing the balanced training expected of a ruler-in-the-making.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A kṣatriya’s formation is not only martial or intellectual but balanced: regularity (nityam), disciplined learning (adhyayana), and appropriate recreation (krīḍā) under a teacher’s guidance cultivate steadiness, humility, and readiness for righteous rule.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the prince habitually goes to the hermitage and stays with Droṇa, where he both plays and studies—depicting his daily routine of training under Droṇa.
