Vaiśaṁpāyana said: “O best of kings, O crest-jewel among rulers, I have duly and conscientiously done what was required to secure the release of those Vasus who had been cursed, so that they might be freed from the human world.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when bound by a curse or adverse fate, release is sought through yathāvat—doing what is proper and prescribed. The verse emphasizes conscientious action (samyak) aligned with dharma as the means to restore order and secure redemption.
Vaiśaṁpāyana tells the king that he has undertaken the appropriate measures to ensure that the cursed Vasus obtain release from their human embodiment—i.e., to end their compelled stay in the human world and restore them to their rightful state.
