Mantra 1
For the winning of splendour—lead this man upward, O Agni, when thou art offered ghee. Unite him with brilliance; and with offspring make him abundant.
Mantra 2
O Indra, make this man more eminent; among his peers let him be the master. With wealth and thriving join him; lead him on for life, lead him on unto old age.
Mantra 3
He in whose house we make the oblation—him, O Agni, do thou increase. To him hath Soma spoken in approval, and this Brahmaṇaspati as well.
It asks for the full Paustika set: varcas (splendour/status), wealth with thriving (poṣa), abundant progeny (prajā), and a life carried to old age.
Agni is the domestic ritual power who ‘raises’ the person through accepted ghee-offering; Indra is invoked to add social eminence, mastery among peers, and longevity.
No special herbs or amulets are mentioned. The text emphasizes a simple household offering—especially ghee into the fire—paired with recitation and intention for the beneficiary/house.
