अग्ने मन्युं प्रतिनुदन् परेषां त्वं नो गोपाः परि पाहि विश्वतः । अपाञ्चो यन्तु निवता दुरस्यवोऽमैषां चित्तं प्रबुधां वि नेशत्
ágnē mányuṃ pratinudán paréṣāṃ tváṃ no gōpā́ḥ pári pāhi viśvátaḥ | apā́ñcō yantu nivátā durasyávo ’máīṣāṃ cíttaṃ prabúdhāṃ ví nēśat ||
O Agni, thrusting back the wrath of others, be thou our guardian; encompass and protect us from all sides. Let the ill-aiming go away turned backward, with heads bowed down; and do thou scatter—lead off to ruin—their mind, though waking and alert.
