Sukta 2
amī́ṣāṃ cittā́ni pratimoháyantī gṛhāṇā́ṅgāny apvé páréhi | abhí préhi nírdaha hṛtsú śokáiḥ grāhy àmítrāṃs támasā vidhya śátrūn
Bewildering the minds of yonder men, O Apvā, go forth away; the members of the households—(assail them). Advance against them; burn them out: with griefs within their hearts seize thou the unfriendly; with darkness pierce the foes.
Rishi: Atharvanic/Angiras-type attribution (household sorcery corpus; specific r̥ṣi varies by anukramaṇī tradition)
Devata: Apvā (personified demonic/witch-force) as addressed agent; secondarily the spell’s own abhicaric power against amitra/śatru
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (probable; the verse is in the common Atharvanic anuṣṭubh cadence though pāda division is somewhat compressed in Saṃhitā transmission)
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"bhayankara","emotional_arc":"From targeted command to escalating assault and dread.","listener_experience":"A fierce, protective aggression; sense of unleashing a shadow-guard.","intensity":9}
