Let not those ancient manly powers turn hither against us; let the glories be for you. Let them not waste us, nor waste us aforetime. What wondrous might of yours, age after age, is ever new, deathless, born of the shout—O Maruts, set that within us: both what is hard to withstand, and what is hard to overpass.
Rishi: Rigvedic attribution (Marut hymn tradition); in AVŚ Book 20, r̥ṣi follows the RV source-hymn lineage (requires RV concordance for exact name).
Devata: Maruts
Chandas: Triṣṭubh/Jagatī mixture typical of Marut stotras (exact meter per pāda requires scansion of RV original).
