Sukta 4
द्रप्सश्चस्कन्द पृथिवीमनु द्यामिमं च योनिमनु यश्च पूर्वः । समानं योनिमनु संचरन्तं द्रप्सं जुहोम्यनु सप्त होत्राः
drapsáś caskanda pṛthivī́m ánu dyā́m imáṃ ca yóniṃ ánu yáś ca pū́rvaḥ | samānáṃ yóniṃ ánu saṃcárantaṃ drapsáṃ juhómy ánu saptá hótrāḥ |
The Drop hath streamed—along the Earth, along Heaven, along this womb, and that which is the former. The Drop that moves along the self-same womb, in ordered course—this Drop I offer, following the Seven Hotṛ-calls.
Rishi: Hymn-level funerary seer attribution per anukramaṇī (Atharvanic tradition).
Devata: Drapsa as sacralized oblation; implicitly Agni (recipient) and cosmic stations (Dyāvāpṛthivī).
Chandas: Triṣṭubh-like cadence is plausible; exact metrical classification requires full pada scansion by edition.
{"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_arc":"From movement/streaming to settled order (following the seven calls)","listener_experience":"A calm sense of being guided; the rite feels ‘on rails’ rather than chaotic","intensity":4}
