bṛ́haspátinā́vasṛṣṭā́ṃ víśve devā́ adhārayann | várcō góṣu práviṣṭaṃ yát ténémā́ṃ sáṃ sṛ́jāmasi ||
Sent forth by Bṛhaspati, all the Gods have stablished it: the splendour that hath entered into the kine—with that same do we now join this woman fast.
Rishi: Traditionally associated with Atharvanic marriage-seers (AV 14.2 vivāha corpus; r̥ṣi attributions vary by anukramaṇī tradition).
Devata: Bṛhaspati and the Viśve Devāḥ; the operative ‘devatā’ is also the invoked quality (varcas) as an immanent power.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (pragmatic domestic meter typical of AV marriage verses)
