Sukta 1
द्वे ते चक्रे सूर्ये ब्रह्माण ऋतुथा विदुः । अथैकं चक्रं यद् गुहा तदद्धातय इद् विदुः
dvé te cakré sū́rye bráhmāṇa ṛtúthā́ viduḥ | áthaíkaṃ cakráṃ yád guhā́ tád addhā́ átaya íd viduḥ
Two wheels of thine, O Sūryā, the Brahmans know in ordered season; but that one wheel which is hidden—verily that the wayfarers alone do know.
Rishi: Marriage-cycle attribution (Sūryā myth complex).
Devata: Sūryā (addressed); implicitly the principle of ṛta and the protective ‘hidden’ power.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh
