Eightfold harnessed, the fierce Bearer bears: the Father of the Gods, begetter of our holy thoughts. Measuring with mind the thread of ṛta, Mātariśvan blows through all the quarters—of that God. This is the offence against the wrathful One: whoso thus a knowing Brahman wrongs. Up, make him tremble, O Rohita; waste him away: upon the Brahman-hurter loose back the nooses.
Rishi: Rohita/Āditya cycle attribution (anukramaṇī-dependent).
Devata: Rohita with Agni/Mātariśvan imagery (syncretic solar-fire-wind complex)
Chandas: Mixed; refrain-driven.
