IAST Transliteration

saṃkárṣantī karū́karaṃ mánasā putrám íchchantī | pátim bhrā́taram ā́t svā́n radité arbude táva

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Dragging forth the karūkara-cry, yearning in mind for a son—bereft of husband, brother, and her own—let her wail: this lamentation, O Arbudi, is of thy making.
