Sukta 9
प्रतिघ्नानाश्रुमुखी कृधुकर्णी च क्रोशतु । विकेशी पुरुषे हते रदिते अर्बुदे तव
pratighnānā́śru-mukhī́ kṛ́dhu-karṇī́ ca krośatu | vi-kéśī púruṣe haté radité arbude táva
Let the smiting woman, tear-faced, and the harsh-eared one cry aloud; let the dishevelled-haired (wife) wail when the man is slain—this lamentation, O Arbudi, is of thy making.
Rishi: Atharvanic/Āṅgirasa attribution (Anukramaṇī tradition).
Devata: Arbudi (as war-power causing enemy lament).
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh-like (shorter, curse-style cadence).
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"bhayankara","emotional_arc":"From naming grim female figures → eruption of cries → wail at the slain man → sealing attribution to Arbudi.","listener_experience":"A dark, forceful curse-tone; evokes dread and ruthless certainty.","intensity":9}
