Sukta 7
कथं वातो नेलयति कथं न रमते मनः । किमापः सत्यं प्रेप्सन्तीर्नेलयन्ति कदा चन
katháṃ vā́to nélayati katháṃ ná ramate mánaḥ | kím ā́paḥ satyáṃ prépsantīr nélayanti kadā́ cana
How is it that the Wind findeth no resting-place? how is it that the Mind taketh no delight (in repose)? Why do the Waters, seeking after Truth, at no time whatsoever come to settle?
Rishi: Traditionally associated with Atharvanic seers in the Skambha cycle (often given as Atharvan/Angiras lineages in anukramaṇī traditions)
Devata: Skambha (the cosmic Support); also satya/ṛta implicitly
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant in AV philosophical hymns; this verse is in anuṣṭubh-like cadence)
