Let it cling not to the flesh, nor to the fat; let it cling not to the marrow—smitten clean away. Let the speckled slimy thing depart; to the dog be it, for afterbirth-eating: let the afterbirth drop away.

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (seer not securely specified for this single mantra in common summaries; treated as Atharvan/Angiras-type in ritual use).

Devata: Jarāyu (afterbirth) as the targeted entity; the mantra functions as an apotropaic/expulsive address rather than praise of a high deity.

Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant domestic-meter; this verse conforms broadly to the anuṣṭubh cadence).

{"primary_rasa":"vira","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_arc":"From firm negation and striking-away to relief through downward release.","listener_experience":"A sense of decisive intervention, then easing and safety as the obstruction is imagined to drop away.","intensity":7}
