Sukta 2
यथा द्यां च पृथिवीं चान्तस्तिष्ठति तेजनम्। एवा रोगं चास्रावं चान्तस्तिष्ठतु मुञ्ज इत्
yáthā́ dyā́m ca pṛthivī́m cā́ntás tiṣṭhati téjanam | evā́ rogáṃ cāsrāváṃ cā́ntás tiṣṭhatu muñjá ít ||
As, within, the fastening-implement stands between Heaven and Earth, even so—within—let Muñja hold fast the disease and the wasting flux, yea, let it stand confined within.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often transmitted under Atharvan/Angiras attribution for early healing charms; specific r̥ṣi not stated in the provided excerpt).
Devata: Muñja (as empowered binding-substance) / Bandhana (the act of fixation); implicitly the charm’s efficacy rather than a high deity.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (8+8+8+8, with Atharvanic flexibility)
