Paingala Upanishad 7 — Verse 7

तीर्थे श्वपचगृहे वा तनुं विहाय याति कैवल्यम् । प्राणान् अवकीर्य याति कैवल्यम् ॥७॥

Padapatha (Word Split)

तीर्थे । श्वपच-गृहे । वा । तनुम् । विहाय । याति । कैवल्यम् । प्राणान् । अवकीर्य । याति । कैवल्यम् ॥

IAST Transliteration

tīrthe śvapacagṛhe vā tanuṃ vihāya yāti kaivalyam | prāṇān avakīrya yāti kaivalyam ||7||

Translation

Baik di tīrtha (tempat suci) maupun di rumah śvapaca (kaum terbuang), setelah meninggalkan tubuh ini ia menuju Kaivalya, kesendirian mutlak—kebebasan sempurna. Setelah melepaskan prāṇa-prāṇa (nafas kehidupan), ia pun menuju Kaivalya.

Academic Translation

Whether at a sacred ford (tīrtha) or in the house of a dog-cooker (outcaste), having abandoned the body, he goes to aloneness (kaivalya). Having cast off the vital breaths, he goes to aloneness.
