Agastya
Tirtha: Ayodhyā-kṣetra (yajña-sthāna within)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Agastya narrates as the king conducts the Viśvajit/‘universal conquest’ yajña: bustling preparations, heaps of offerings, decorated altar, priests chanting, and abundant dakṣiṇā arranged for distribution.
True dharma is shown by performing sacred rites with sincerity and by giving generously—even to the extent of personal sacrifice.
Ayodhyā is the setting in the Ayodhyāmāhātmya, with the narrative highlighting its dhārmic royal lineage.
A yajña is performed with abundant saṃbhāras (requisites) and an exceptional dakṣiṇā (ritual gift) described as ‘sarvasva’—giving away all wealth.
