mathurāyāṃ tadā karttā kaṃso rājyaṃ mahāsuraḥ | śiśupālajarāsaṃdhau kālanemirmahāsuraḥ

Di Mathura pada saat itu, iblis perkasa Kamsa adalah penguasa kerajaan; dan di antara Shishupala dan Jarasandha, iblis besar Kalanemi juga berdiri menonjol.
