Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages (deduced)
Tirtha: Kedāra / Kedāranātha
Type: kshetra
Listener: assembled ṛṣis (Naimiṣāraṇya frame, typical)
Scene: A fierce ascetic scene: Rāvaṇa in intense tapas before a Himalayan liṅga, entering absorption; the dramatic motif of repeated self-offering while the liṅga radiates stillness.
Devotion becomes extraordinary when the mind dissolves into the deity (liṅge layaḥ) and worship is sustained with unwavering resolve.
Kedāra-kṣetra is the implied pilgrimage setting where Śiva’s presence and worship are celebrated.
Śiva-pūjā of the Liṅga is highlighted; the narrative describes repeated offerings as a legendary exemplar, not a general injunction.
