तथा दृष्ट्वा कालनेमिस्तदानीं प्रहस्यमानोऽतिरुषा बलान्वितः । कस्त्वं महाभाग वरेण्यरूपः श्यामो युवा वारणमत्तविक्रमः । करे गृहीतं निशितं महाप्रभं चक्रं च कस्मात्कथयस्व मे प्रभो
tathā dṛṣṭvā kālanemistadānīṃ prahasyamāno'tiruṣā balānvitaḥ | kastvaṃ mahābhāga vareṇyarūpaḥ śyāmo yuvā vāraṇamattavikramaḥ | kare gṛhītaṃ niśitaṃ mahāprabhaṃ cakraṃ ca kasmātkathayasva me prabho
Melihat-Nya demikian, Kālanemi pun saat itu tertawa mengejek, dipenuhi amarah yang dahsyat dan kekuatan, lalu berkata: “Siapakah Engkau, wahai yang mulia, berwujud elok dan terpuji—berkulit gelap, muda, dengan keperkasaan laksana gajah mabuk? Dan mengapa di tangan-Mu Engkau menggenggam cakra yang tajam dan bercahaya itu? Katakan padaku, wahai Prabhu.”
