Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) (deduced for Māheśvarakhaṇḍa narrative frame)
Listener: Kuru-nandana
Scene: A yogin with a faint glow of insight holds a palm-leaf manuscript; a subtle crown-like shadow (pride) rises above his head, causing ripples in a lake symbolizing mind; distant sound-waves reach his ear from far mountains labeled ‘thousands of yojanas’.
Pride arising from spiritual gifts destabilizes the mind; even siddhis like distant hearing can obstruct samādhi.
No tīrtha is discussed; the verse explains a yogic upasarga (Śrāvaṇa).
No ritual is prescribed; the implied discipline is humility and non-attachment to siddhis.
