Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 29

बोधको रसनास्थश्च रसानामवबोधकः । शिरःस्थश्चक्षुरादीनां तर्पणात्तर्पणः स्मृतः

bodhako rasanāsthaśca rasānāmavabodhakaḥ | śiraḥsthaścakṣurādīnāṃ tarpaṇāttarpaṇaḥ smṛtaḥ

Bodhaka, yang bersemayam pada lidah, membuat rasa-rasa dikenali dengan benar. Dan Tarpaṇa, yang bersemayam di kepala, dikenang sebagai yang menutrisi mata dan indra lainnya melalui kepuasan yang memelihara.
