Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 103

भवन्त्येतानि सर्वाणि लुब्धानामकृतात्मनाम् । सुमहां त्यपि सास्त्राणि धारयंति बहुश्रुताः

bhavantyetāni sarvāṇi lubdhānāmakṛtātmanām | sumahāṃ tyapi sāstrāṇi dhārayaṃti bahuśrutāḥ

Segala cela ini timbul pada orang yang tamak dan belum menyucikan diri. Bahkan mereka yang banyak mendengar ajaran dan mampu menghafal śāstra yang luas pun tetap dapat terjatuh ke dalamnya.
