ततो यज्ञोपवीतं दद्यात् अनेन मंत्रेण । सूत्रतंतुमयं शुद्धं पवित्रमिदमुत्तमम् । यज्ञोपवीतं देवेश प्रगृहाण नमोऽस्तु ते
tato yajñopavītaṃ dadyāt anena maṃtreṇa | sūtrataṃtumayaṃ śuddhaṃ pavitramidamuttamam | yajñopavītaṃ deveśa pragṛhāṇa namo'stu te
Kemudian persembahkanlah yajñopavīta (benang suci) dengan mantra ini: “Inilah yajñopavīta yang utama, terbuat dari untaian benang yang murni, amat menyucikan. Wahai Dewa-īśa, terimalah benang suci ini; sembah sujud kepada-Mu.”
