श्रीनारद उवाच । ततोऽहं पार्थ भूयोऽपि जनानुग्रहकाम्यया । प्रत्यक्षदेवं मार्तंडमत्रानेतुमियेष ह
śrīnārada uvāca | tato'haṃ pārtha bhūyo'pi janānugrahakāmyayā | pratyakṣadevaṃ mārtaṃḍamatrānetumiyeṣa ha
Śrī Nārada bersabda: Kemudian, wahai Pārtha, sekali lagi—demi mengupayakan kesejahteraan manusia—aku bertekad menghadirkan ke sini Mārtaṇḍa, sang dewa yang tampak nyata, yakni Surya, secara langsung.
Nārada
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pārtha (Arjuna)
Scene: Nārada, vīṇā in hand, speaks to Pārtha with purposeful gesture; in the background, a radiant solar disc hints at Mārtaṇḍa’s impending arrival to the sacred place.
Saintly action is motivated by lokānugraha—compassionate intent to benefit others—by revealing accessible forms of the divine.
The verse says “here” (atra) without naming the site in this line; it continues from the preceding tīrtha narrative context of the section.
No direct ritual is prescribed; it introduces a sacred act of bringing Sūrya’s manifest presence, often associated in Purāṇas with darśana and tīrtha-enhancement.
