यद्दुःखं जायते तस्य तद्गर्भेऽष्टगुणं भवेत् । इत्येतद्गर्भदुःखं हि प्राणिनां परिकीर्तितम्

Transliteration

yadduḥkhaṃ jāyate tasya tadgarbhe'ṣṭaguṇaṃ bhavet | ityetadgarbhaduḥkhaṃ hi prāṇināṃ parikīrtitam

Translation

Derita apa pun yang timbul bagi makhluk, derita itu menjadi delapan kali lipat di dalam rahim. Demikianlah ‘penderitaan dalam kandungan’ makhluk hidup dinyatakan.
