kleśena kṛtvā kūpaṃ vā sa ca kṣārodako vṛthā | bahukleśairjanma nītaṃ vinā dharmaṃ tathā vṛthā
Bila dengan jerih payah besar seseorang menggali sumur, namun airnya menjadi asin, maka usaha itu sia-sia. Demikian pula, hidup yang dijalani dengan banyak kesukaran menjadi sia-sia bila tanpa dharma.
