Setelah mempersembahkan arghya kepadanya, ia juga memberikan tempat duduk yang layak bagi seorang dewa. Sang Tuhan, berkenan hati, berbicara kepada sang bhakta yang bersujud dengan suara dalam.
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Jyotirlinga: Viśvanātha
Sthala Purana: In the Viśveśvara-kṣetra (Kāśī), the Lord receives the devotee with honor and grants instruction; the episode frames Kāśī as a seat of Śiva’s immediate grace and upadeśa.
Significance: Darśana and śravaṇa of Śiva’s upadeśa in Kāśī is held to hasten liberation (mokṣa) and remove fear of death through the Lord’s favor.
Offering: pushpa
It highlights bhakti expressed through reverent hospitality (arghya and a worthy seat), showing that humility and proper honor offered to Shiva invite his grace and direct instruction.
Arghya and āsana are standard upachāras in Saguna Shiva/Linga worship—treating Shiva as the living Lord who is welcomed, honored, and then reveals his will through compassionate speech.
Perform Shiva-puja with upachāras—offer arghya and prepare a clean āsana for the Linga; inwardly cultivate prahvatā (bowed humility) while repeating the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
