Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Jyotirlinga: Viśvanātha
Sthala Purana: As this is within the Viśveśvara-saṃhitā (Kāśī-centered), the broader frame associates Śiva as Viśvanātha granting liberation/Śiva-loka; this verse itself speaks generally of Kailāsa-phala through dāna to a Śiva-bhakta.
Significance: Kāśī/Viśvanātha is famed for granting Śiva’s grace and the highest auspicious end; here, the stated fruit is attainment of Kailāsa/Śiva-loka via devotion-oriented dāna.
Role: liberating
It teaches that dāna (charity) becomes spiritually transformative when offered with Śiva-bhakti—especially to a learned Śiva devotee—yielding the highest fruit symbolized as attaining Kailāsa, not merely temporary merit.
In Saguna Śiva worship, serving Śiva’s devotees is treated as direct service to Śiva; thus charity given in a Śaiva context supports Linga-upāsanā by purifying intention and aligning one’s karma with devotion.
Practice dāna as a Śaiva discipline—especially on Śiva worship days (e.g., Mahāśivarātri), offer food, clothing, or support to sincere Śiva-bhaktas while remembering Śiva (mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
