FAQs

It highlights that sacred knowledge (the Vedas) is not merely collected by effort but is bestowed in due time through divine sanction—pointing to Shiva as the inner Lord (Pati) who grants right understanding when the seeker is prepared.

The promise to bestow the Vedas reinforces Shiva’s role as the source and revealer of scripture; Linga/Saguna worship is presented in the Purana as a direct means to gain eligibility for such revealed knowledge and its liberating intent.

The verse implies disciplined waiting with faith and obedience; in Shaiva practice this aligns with steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and regular Shiva-puja while awaiting the ripening of insight.
