It presents Devī’s saguna (gracious, perceivable) form as worthy of reverent contemplation—beauty here functions as an auspicious sign of Śakti, drawing the mind from sense-impressions toward devotional absorption and inner purity.
In Shaiva devotion, the Linga embodies Shiva’s transcendent reality, while Devī’s described form expresses the compassionate, manifest power (Śakti) inseparable from Shiva—together guiding devotees from form-based worship to realization of the Supreme.
A simple practice is dhyāna (devotional visualization) of Umā’s auspicious form while repeating the Panchākṣarī mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” letting the mind settle into steady bhakti and reverence.
