Umā-caritra-prārthanā: Ṛṣayaḥ Sūtaṃ Pṛcchanti

तदा द्वावसुरौ जातौ विष्णौ कर्णमलेन वै । मधुकैटभनामानौ विख्यातौ पृथिवीतले

Saat itu, dari kotoran telinga Viṣṇu lahirlah dua asura. Mereka termasyhur di bumi dengan nama Madhu dan Kaiṭabha.
