FAQs

The verse highlights bhakti-born transformation: sincere emotion and humility arise when the soul (paśu) turns toward the Lord (Pati), indicating inner purification and readiness for Shiva’s grace.

Though the verse is narrative, it reflects the devotional mood that supports Saguna Shiva worship—approaching the Lord with softened ego, reverence, and heartfelt surrender, which is central to Linga-bhakti in the Shiva Purana.

It suggests cultivating devotion and humility alongside Shiva-upāsanā—such as steady japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and prayerful contemplation—so the mind becomes tender, focused, and receptive to grace.
