Lalu jiwa yang saleh itu melihat di tengah Liṅga sebagai Mahādeva—Īśāna yang dikenal sebagai Madhyameśvara—pemberi anugerah yang diidamkan para bhakta.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Sthala Purana: Madhyameśvara is presented as Īśāna manifest as the liṅga ‘in the middle’ (madhye-liṅga), emphasizing liṅga as the accessible saguna focus through which the Lord grants iṣṭa (desired boons) to bhaktas.
Significance: Liṅga-darśana of Madhyameśvara as īśvara-anugraha: fulfillment of righteous desires and strengthening of bhakti leading toward liberation.
It presents Śiva as the compassionate Pati (Lord) who becomes accessible through the Liṅga and responds to sincere bhakti by granting fitting boons, ultimately guiding the devotee toward liberation through grace.
By depicting Maheśvara appearing as a Liṅga, the verse affirms Saguna upāsanā: the formless Lord is worshiped through a sacred emblem, making divine presence tangible and spiritually transformative for devotees.
Liṅga-darśana and pūjā with devotional intent—offering water, bilva leaves, and repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—is implied as the practical way to approach the boon-giving Lord.
