Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: teaching
The verse presents Shiva as the supreme guide (Pati) who ensures dharma is preserved through revealed knowledge—Veda and Purāṇa—so beings in all three worlds can access right understanding and progress toward liberation.
By affirming that Shiva establishes authoritative scripture and its transmission, the verse supports Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga worship) as grounded in sacred tradition, not mere sentiment—devotion is guided by śāstra.
A practical takeaway is śāstra-based japa and devotion—especially the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—supported by regular study/hearing of Purāṇic teachings to keep practice aligned with dharma.
